Who We Are

Carolina Resource Center for Eating Disorders (CRC for ED) is the only nonprofit in NC providing education, resources, and support to individuals, families, and professionals concerned with disordered eating and recovery from eating disorders. Programming includes professional development and community outreach, resource and referral services through a helpline and treatment directory, weekly virtual support group, and independent clinical assessments for individuals with financial hardship and insurance barriers. CRC for ED is a small organization doing the work of much larger nonprofits with local, regional, and national reach. All services are provided at no cost and are made possible through the generosity of private donors.

Carolina Resource Center for Eating Disorders’ services and advocacy depends on personal contributions and sponsorships because eating disorders nonprofits are not generally awarded grant funding.  For those interested in supporting our work please click here.

Developing and connecting resources to assist and advocate for those impacted by eating disorders.

CRC for ED is a widely identified and trusted hub for eating disorders prevention and support. We are committed to promoting healthy relationships with food, movement, and body image; eliminating stigma; and fostering acceptance and healing.

  • Hope:  We believe that recovery is possible.
  • Compassion:  We understand the complexity of eating disorders and provide services with sensitivity and care.
  • Diversity:  We strive for a culture that is inclusive.
  • Integrity:  We provide quality programming and accurate information, and we safeguard the confidentiality of those who access our services.
  • Collaboration:  We are most effective when individuals, families, professionals, and the community are invested and aligned.

Membership / Partnership

CEDO is a partnership of mission-aligned non-profit organizations and allies dedicated to increasing awareness and resources at the global, national, regional and local level for people affected by eating disorders and disordered eating.

In pursuit of our mission we advocate for eating disorders education, equitable access to quality, affirming healthcare services, and legislation that advances eating disorder care and funding. CEDO provides a brave space for member organizations to grow and learn from each other.
