“You are allowed to be a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously.” — Sophia Bush
As a person with a history of disordered eating practices, I have learned that there is no “one way” to heal and experience freedom from eating disorders. I have been trained and certified in both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Intuitive Eating, and have seen how well they intersect and help people find a more flexible approach to how they view their relationship to food and their bodies. It’s so powerful to embrace the “both/and” style of thinking and move away from the “black-or-white”, “all-or-nothing” kind of thinking that is associated with diet culture. Let’s explore ways that you can have a more peaceful relationship to your body, food, and movement, in ways that make sense to you. I have been a licensed therapist for over 15 years and am passionate about putting you in the driver’s seat of your therapy sessions, with me being the ever-so-helpful (and sometimes annoying) passenger. My style is very conversational, easy-going, and knowledgeable, with some humor and sarcasm sprinkled in when necessary. I look forward to walking along side of you on this journey!
