Alison Cross is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, licensed as a Professional Counselor and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Georgia and North Carolina. She has worked in the mental health industry for over 20 years with a focus on helping folks discover a restored relationship with food and their bodies. With experience in all levels of care in treating eating disorders, her passion is working with people on an outpatient basis. She is active in the community as President and founding member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Western North Carolina Chapter. Alison loves leading, teaching, and supervising others. As an iaedp Approved Supervisor she appreciates the opportunity to share what she has learned with other therapists. She is also a Certified Professional Counseling Supervisor in Georgia and will soon be a supervisor for therapists in NC. Alison helps people with mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, body image issues, disordered eating, relationship issues, trauma, grief, and life transitions. She is trained in psychodynamic and relational theories of psychotherapy, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and a timely use of humor. Learning about new evidence-based approaches to obtaining a better quality of life is always on her agenda, as well as spending time with her kids, husband, and pets.
