“ Just eat,” “Wow you’re eating,” “You look healthy,” “You don’t look like you have an Eating Disorder.” The comments that may make you feel like they are pushing you to the edge. The endless feeling of unworthiness, never feeling good enough, fearing rejection, overwhelming feelings of disgust and self hate. The thought of, if I’m not perfect… I’m failing. The constant war with numbers – all numbers. The number of calories you eat, the number on the scale, the number on your jeans, the number of miles you ran or calories you did or didn’t burn. You are more than a number and fear is telling you otherwise. You deserve to feel peace with food and your body.
I work with all genders and serve adolescents age 14 and adults age 18 and up. In addition to eating disorders, I also work with issues of addiction, substance use, and co-occurring issues of anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. I utilize an integrative person-centered, trauma-informed approach within our work. This includes using the therapeutic modalities of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy and Health At Every Size. Additionally, I have experience and utilize Emotion Focused Family Therapy with couples and families. We’ll work at your pace since I believe you are the expert of your own life. As your therapist, I am committed to creating a safe, non judgmental, supportive space for you to heal, recover, and thrive.
